In 1996, 1997 and 1998, Friends of Vrindavan organised the Yamuna Cycle Expedition. Each expedition recruited about 40 volunteers to follow the sacred river Yamuna from her source high in the Himalayas down to the holy forests of Vrindavan. Over the three years, £30,000 was raised for environmental projects.
