The 16th century tomb of Sanatan Goswami. Generally Hindus cremate their dead, so as to release the soul for its onward journey. But in the case of important teachers and saints, who have already achieved liberation, their bodies are buried and venerated in special shrines called samadhis. In Vrindavan there are many such sacred shrines.
