Education Work in Vrindavan

WWF's education work lays the foundations for Vrindavan's future conservation. The project divides Vrindavan's schools into four sectors, each with eight or nine schools. Activities range from cultural programmes with drama, folk dance and songs to videos, plantation programmes, competitions, poster making, field trips, teacher training seminars and formal environmental examinations.

Riverwatch

Riverwatch, a water sampling programme designed by WWF, has been undertaken by two schools. They analyse results and prepare action plans to persuade local authorities to improve water quality.

Nature Clubs

Twelve Nature Clubs were formed in Vrindavan with membership of over 160 young people. Nature Clubs of India is a youth programme coordinated by WWF-India. In Vrindavan their varied activities include maintenance of parks and gardens, tree adoption, plantation, bird watching, seed collection, water conservation, collection of polythane bags, waste recycling, health programmes, production of posters, exhibiting nature paintings and conservation and cleaning of sacred ponds.
